10 years and a fresh start............

So many memories...............Girls Day in the Country has allowed me to make so many wonderful friends..........mostly just thru blogging..........
can't believe it has been 10 years...........
Some faces have come and gone.........
but lots keep appearing year after year..........
bit sad some don't blog like they used to as this is how we met to start with............
I had to leave early in 2012 for family reasons and cried 1/2 the way home...........a very sad trip...........
but every year friendships are started or rekindled...........
groups photos always taken.............

smiles all round............memories made............
Like I said earlier GDITC is no longer..........and I was pretty sad about this.........immediately I was thinking how could we keep meeting..........where could we keep meeting........who would organise something...........
I would miss this so much not seeing all these girls again........
I sulked for a few weeks.......
&&&&
I've had a venue in mind for years...........just never sure what to do there..........how to do it..........I have organised other retreats and trips so knew i could make it happen.........
(I think I should have been one of those people who organise functions etc........not much call for it where I am)
It is hard to find venues for groups that don't cost a fortune and have the space required.......
(Finding The Vale for the Bathurst retreat was difficult)
Sonia was here a few weeks ago and together we checked out the new venue......she also organised retreats in the past...........
we made some bookings, organised a caterer........
BAM 2018 we have a plan..........
" Scrub Stitchin' "
emailed some friends who have been on various retreats with me.......they loved the idea....thankgoodness...
$$$ deps being paid........
beds are filling fast..........
&&&&
I'm so excited we will gather again.............
new and old friends will gather.........
new friendships made.........
old ones strengthened......
Catch you later......

the end.............

After the sad news on Sat afternoon that GDITC will be no more breaky on Sunday morning was even more special as we had no idea when and where we would see each other again.........would we see each other again............
I was so sad on the way home and for the next week really......still am.....I think that is why it has taken me so long to blog about out weekend..........
Mt Misery was the venue for breaky..........esp for us an early open.........
such a happy group of girls...........
until we had some tears saying goodbye..........everyone leaves from here.............
Susan and me.....
more to come............but nearly done.........
Catch you later.......

Saturday started off grey and drizzly around but we enjoyed a nice walk...........
it was fresh but strangely the breeze was warm.............
a good breaky to start he day...........
Our gorgeous project was this from Bonnie Sullivan USA.............
new to me she is printing fabric ..........we appliqued a bit of wool on the spool, stitched over the leaves and added the buttons........done.........
I know sit down but I had a high achievement on the day...........
got my pincushion and needlebook done..............
Bonnie helped with the pincushion........it is attached to the lid of the container...........
great christmas decorations.........these are also preprinted patterns and you do a little applique of some wool and add a few stitches to smarten it up and it's done...........

Hanging with the bloggy girls......

I started this post a week ago.................late Thursday night after dinner............I want to rewind to that happy place I was with the girls and all the excitement.....not sad because it is the last GDITC......
&&&&&
Thursday afternoon I snuck off from work a little early and headed to Nundle.......my usual partner in all things quilty was travelling with her partner this time..........
after hours of driving getting closer to Nundle I had to wait for a stupid train...........OMG I think it was the longest coal train in the world.........
the 10 mins I was delayed felt like 10 hrs with the girls on the other side waiting for me.........and me busting to get to them.........

nearly in Nundle I looked back to a beautiful sunset.......
dinner was heaps of fun and the exciting crazy chatter that only meeting up with your old friends brings.........the volume in the pub went right up.......
Me, Janice and Jenny.......
Me and Dzintra......
Me and Jenny
Omg so much fun...... Love these girls.....
Me, Fiona, Susan, Sandy, De, Kerri, Marilyn, Lynda, Janice, Jenny, Dzintra
More to come for sure........
