Bible Verses for This Do, Remember Me

"This Do, Remember Me" by G. W. Frazer | scriptureand.blogspot.com

"This do, remember Me":
O blessed, living Lord,
What depths of grace we now can trace
In that most precious word!
About Jesus in Luke 22:19-20 And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me. And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood."
When darker grew Thy path,
When o'er Thee loom'd the cross,
With nought down here Thy heart to cheer,
Thou didst remember us.
Jesus said in John 12:27 Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, Father, save Me from this hour? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name. Then a voice came out of heaven: I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. So the crowd of people who stood by and heard it were saying that it had thundered; others were saying, An angel has spoken to Him. Jesus answered and said, This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sakes. Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself. But He was saying this to indicate the kind of death by which He was to die.

"This do, remember Me":
The sword about to wake,
Prophesy about Jesus in Zechariah 13:7 Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, and against the man, My Associate, declares the Lord of hosts. Strike the Shepherd that the sheep may be scattered; and I will turn My hand against the little ones.
Thy sweat as blood upon the stood
When Thou the cup didst take.
About Jesus in Luke 22:44 And being in agony He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground.
John 18:11 So Jesus said to Peter, Put the sword into the sheath; the cup which the Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?
There on the altar bound
Wast Thou that night of woe,
Hebrews 9:11-12 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
When man's dark hour and Satan's pow'r
Their deepest gloom did throw.
Isaiah 53:7-8 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; like a lamb that is led to slaughter, and like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, so He did not open His mouth. By oppression and judgment He was taken away; and as for His generation, who considered that He was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?

"This do, remember Me":
Oh, deep desire of love
As round Thy soul those waves did roll -
The wrath of God above.
Psalm 88:7 Your wrath has rested upon me, and You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah.
Romans 3:23-26 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Made sin upon the tree,
What blackness veiled the sky -
Mark 15:33 When the sixth hour [noon] came, darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour.
What torrents, dread, bowed low Thy head
As Thou for us didst die.
John 19:30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, It is finished! And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

"This do, remember Me":
Oh, what a savor sweet
For God above - for man, what love -
In all Thy work complete!
Jesus said to God the Father in John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
Ephesians 5:2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma
Now gathered round Thyself
With heart and conscience free,
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.
1 Corinthians 11:27-32 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly. For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep. But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world.
O Lord, once dead, our living Head,
We do remember Thee.
Colossians 1:18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me. In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me. For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lords death until He comes.
